Week 71: It is still cold

This week was super cold, and it snowed a ton yesterday actually! It was warm for the first part of the week and towards the end of the week it got extremely cold!! But nonetheless it is great being here in Gumjeong and serving the members and the people and we were able to meet with a lot of new people this week who wanted to meet and learn
about the gospel! I really can say that it is great being here in the Korea, Busan mission!

Today I want to share a thought that I heard at church yesterday and while I was translating this into English it made me think a lot about life. Our bishop, when he was giving a talk talked about how one day a man asked him, if you could be born again, how different would your life be? And a lot of the people that heard that question said, it would obviously be different and our Bishop agreed. But the young man
that asked the question gave his own answer of, no... It would be the same. We would still screw up, we would still have heart aches and make mistakes. But the one thing that would change is our desire to change, and to not procrastinate. I thought about this and though about missionary work and talking to everyone about the gospel and I thought how great it is that we have the gospel. That though the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we can be clean! It is wonderful for sure!

This last week on Monday, we went to go get Elder Stein a foreigner residence card in the morning and so we had to travel all the way across Busan and it took a little bit to get it done, but afterwards we went outside and went out for lunch! Then we came back to Gumjeong and shopped and then emailed and then we finished up our day by chilling at the house. Then we went outside and talked to many people
on the street and although a lot of people rejected us, it was great to go outside and at least get the chance to share a message that can change their lives!

On Tuesday, we studied a little bit in the morning and then we went to a meeting and I had to translate for a whole bunch of people during it and that was great! Then we came back to the house and ate and for the rest of the day went out and talked to various people. Then we got a call for the immigration office that said that my companion’s visa was
invalid so he is here on a 3 month tourist visa and so we had to get that figured out. So we got that figured out and it turns out that he will have to leave the country for about 3 days and I might have to go with him and we would have to go to a consulate in another country to get a new visa for him! So that will be fun!!

On Wednesday, we went outside and talked to a whole bunch of people and then were able to meet with some people that want to learn about the church! After which we talked to even more people and then we went to choir practice at night with the members!

On Thursday we studied in the morning and then we went outside to meet another person that wants to learn about the gospel and then we walked
all the way home to plan for the upcoming week and then we ate dinner and then went to English class and then talked to a bunch more people afterwards.

Friday, we had a lot of appointments scheduled but a lot of them couldn’t meet or didn’t come so then we went outside and talked to a lot more people and then had dinner and then cleaned the church and helped some other members out and then went outside some more and talked to multiple people.

On Saturday, we studied in the morning and then had to go to the mission home to pick up some materials and then we met with another person who wanted to learn about the gospel and then we went outside some more and talked to people and had dinner and that was our day! We also cleaned the church for a little bit too and that was fantastic!

On Sunday we had church and it was our ward conference. So there were
a lot of people that showed up and I translated again and that was a good time! Then after church we all ate lunch together and had meetings after church and then went outside and got to talk to some more people!

That was basically our week and it was great seeing all the miracles during the week in finding people and helping others come closer unto Christ! It was amazing to see the smiles on people’s faces and how much people’s lives can change through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Love Always,

Elder Joshua Wilson
